Recipe || Vegan "Chicken" Shawarma


This recipe is my go-to when I am craving shawarma.


You'll need:

16 Ounces of Plant Based "Chicken"

1/4 Cup Lemon Juice

1/4 Cup Water

Shawarma Seasoning (See Below)

Pita or Flat Bread

Vegan toppings of your choice (Lettuce, Pickled Red Onion, garlic dip, tzatziki, hummus, Violife or Trader Joe's vegan feta)


Shawarma Seasoning Blend:

2 tsp turmeric

2 tsp cumin

1 tsp paprika

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp cane sugar

½ tsp harissa powder

½ tsp cinnamon


Instructions:

  1. Combine water, lemon juice, spices

  2. Toss the chicken with the spice and liquid mixture

  3. Let the chicken sit for as long as you'd like. I waited 10 minutes

  4. Cook the chicken based on the package instructions

  5. Build your tasty shawarma wrap :)
